Farewell, BabyBerry | Hello, Brand New BLOG! {plus a new video}

The time has come to say farewell to ourbabyberry.com... But the good news is that we are moving to a BRAND NEW BLOG! You can start following us over at wineplusapples.blogspot.com where we will be sharing our favorite family recipes, the latest photos and news on our family, and much more!

http://wineplusapples.blogspot.com/

Most of you already know that BabyBerry was started when we found out we were expecting Brynn. It seems absolutely crazy to us that we just posted Brynn's 5TH birthday on the very same blog- through it all, we have documented 2 pregnancies, 2 relocations, and each and every milestone of our growing babes to share with you all, and it has truly meant the world to have you in our lives! I will be turning this blog into a book soon, hopefully after just one more post of Lucas' 2nd birthday party...

So, farewell to you, BabyBerry. We will miss you, but we are excited to move on to a brand new place to post about our favorite experiences! Of course, I have to share one last video... xoxo

Brynn's Birth Video

Here we are, 3 years later... and I finally got around to putting Brynn's birth video together!

Actually, it's been in the works for awhile now, but to be perfectly honest, I like to watch the raw footage to remember every little detail about the moment God brought this beautiful baby girl into my life... It's not as G-rated as I would have liked, in order to share with everyone, but it's real.

Our fiesty little girl, full of personality and a little bit of sass, has been the love of our lives for the past 3 years... and we can't wait to do this all over again in just a few weeks!!

Happy 3rd birthday, Brynnie. So many changes are coming your way soon, but I know you will handle them with the courage and grace that you have shown us so many times since we first met you... We love you so much, and that is something that will never change!

Brynn's Cinderella 3rd Birthday Party

a dream is a wish your heart makes
when you're fast asleep
in dreams, you will lose your heartache
whatever you wish for you keep
have faith in your dreams and someday
your rainbow will come smiling through
no matter how your heart is grieving
if you keep on believing
the dream that you wish will come true ...

our little girl is 3!
well, almost. most of you probably realize that her actual birthday is October 1st,
but with Grammy visiting this weekend, we decided to celebrate a little early.
I spent the past week DIYing decorations for some Cinderella themed festivities... I was going for low-key and casual, but of course, that's never  easy for me to do!
You know how much I love to plan parties. ;)
So, I broke out all of the cardstock, tissue paper, and ribbon and went for it...
Most of the decorations were made from what I already had in my stash.

since it was only brynn, daddy, grammy, and mommy in attendance this year,
i was more than willing to let the birthday girl sneak a few "pre-celebration" licks of her cake!

we even had a special guest that joined us for the party... Jacques!
brynn loved him, but decided to take a peek inside the mouse hole to see if Gus Gus was in there too.

as always, our girl was absolutely thrilled to help us sing "happy birthday!"
we did it twice, which is a tradition in the Wilson family...

opening gifts was a lot of fun too! stickers are always a winner in our house...

with all of the changes due to happen in the coming months, it was so wonderful to celebrate the beautiful baby girl who made us parents...

Our sweet Brynn,
Every day we marvel at how much bigger you have gotten. We are constantly thinking back to those moments when you were this tiny, little baby that we snuggled into our chests and smothered with kisses, and it's so amazing to see how far you have come since then. You are unconditionally kind, incredibly smart, and every time I see those deep brown eyes, that beautiful smile, and those dimples that you get from your Daddy, it stops me in my tracks... You are becoming more and more beautiful every single day- both inside and out- and it fills my heart with joy and love to watch you turn into such a compassionate and caring person. We love you more than words can possibly say, and we are so excited to see what an wonderful big sister you will be to Lucas... May all of your dreams come true, baby girl!

Love,
Daddy & Mom

don't let your heart be filled with sorrow,
for all you know tomorrow
the dream that you wish will come true.

Baby W's Gender Reveal | VIDEO

First off, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone for their patience...
We know it wasn't easy to wait,
but I have to say that it was probably twice as hard for us to keep this secret for the past week!
Between trying to keep up with my nap-skipper, along with everything else going on,
our timetable didn't have the best stability and management this past week.
But, it's FINALLY done.... and we are so excited to share with you!

Without further adieu, here it is... BABY #2's GENDER REVEAL

Dolphin Tale: Meeting Winter

Today, we ventured over to Clearwater to visit the aquarium...
B was totally mesmerized with the idea of seeing dolphins and other "big pish."
We left there with an entirely different experience than what we ever thought.

We met Winter.
For those that do not know who Winter is, she is the dolphin from Dolphin Tale.
Here is a video of our experiences at the aquarium/hospital.

B's favorite part of the experience was the dolphin show.
A fun fact about the show... The dolphin who was performing for us was named Nicolas.
When he was only 6 months-old, his mother became very ill.
She intentionally beached herself because of her illness, and because Nicolas didn't know any better, he followed her up onto the beach. As a result, he suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns from the sun.
And if that wasn't enough to break this hormonal momma's heart... His momma didn't make it.
Dolphins who are orphaned or abandoned under 1 year of age cannot survive out in the wild.
So, Nicolas will spend his life in captivity.
{and yes, I am still tearing up over this story}

I hope if you and your family are ever in Clearwater, you will stop by the aquarium to visit Winter,
as well as all of the other animals being cared for at the marine hospital there.
Our visit there was more of a life lesson for all of us than it was for entertainment...
And, because the aquarium is mostly a critical-care hospital for dolphins, sea turtles, and otters...
It is run almost solely on the money made through admissions.
The proceeds benefit animals like sweet little Nicolas, who will forever be scared by tragedy, but will go on to live a fulfilling life at the aquarium. :)

VIDEOS | Cousin Love

packing, packing, and more packing... that is my life right now!
but i can't complain, because we are soooo excited for our move to tampa.
i am taking a little time off today to catch up in the blog world...
i miss all of my buddies, and instagram just isn't giving me all that i need! ;)

(for the past 4 hours, i was operating under the impression that today was WEDNESDAY... again.
that's how out of touch i am with the outside world! HA!)

a day off is much needed right now.

i also just wanted to share a quick video of my niece- little A- and B playing
ring around the rosie with grammy... (mostly so PawPaw can have easy access to it)

here you go, PawPaw!

little A has also recently learned to refer to brynn as "B."
she is getting so big! we can't wait for her 1st birthday in a little over a month!

these two gals are so funny together...
i can't wait for baby ellie to join in on all of the girly fun.
(and miles too, if he wants)

happy thursday!

Here Comes Santa Claus... and the Snow!

'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
WHEN ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE...
NOT A CREATURE WAS STIRRING,
NOT EVEN A MOUSE...
THE STOCKINGS WERE HUNG BY THE CHIMNEY WITH CARE,
IN HOPES THAT ST. NICHOLAS SOON WOULD BE THERE!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OUR CHRISTMAS MORNING:

after such a long night, B wasn't very willing
to start the Christmas festivities any earlier than necessary...
at 8AM (and after a few attempts at making enough noise to disturb her slumber),
we determined it to be necessary to wake her up...

about an hour later, we were headed to grammy & pawpaw's house
for a little more family fun...

as usual, B & A were two peas in a pod.

in my last post, i mentioned how much they enjoy their little "crawling game,"
which is basically a version of "follow the crazy toddler leader."
they are always finding a new adventure :)

the latest and greatest adventure was, of course, opening gifts!
and B made sure everyone knew that she was no novice.

she needs a little practice in realizing
that she can't immediately play with every gift that she opens...
because there are more that require her attention :)
but for now, we'll just have to deal with a little meltdown here and there
until she gets used to the idea... which will hopefully be soon!

    exhibit A: toddler meltdown.

when the kiddos were all finished,
we watched everyone else open their gifts...
and grammy and pawpaw had a little fun with spaghetti santas :)
(which is a very humorous family joke, that is probably only funny to us)

after all of the gifts were opened, and we all filled up on Christmas brunch...
B decided to help put little A down for her nap!

... and then, with a lot of coercion, it was her turn for a little nap, next to the Christmas tree.

while the girls were napping, the daddies decided to exercise their building muscles...
they put together a wagon, a big wheel, and a picnic table.
GO DADDIES!

when the girls woke up, they took little A's new wagon for a test drive!

later on, Miles-Man arrived, and it was time to watch him open all of his gifts!

the "ellie belly" is showing some hoosier pride! :)
our little niece is due any day now... and we can't wait to meet her!!

LET IT SNOW:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

of course, anyone who lives in the area,
knows that we had a major snowstorm predicted for Christmas night.
i'm not entirely sure of the amount, but it was substantial enough to weigh these trees down...
we usually can't see anything except the very top of the workingmen's institute.

i'm not the biggest fan of snow, especially in large doses, but it was very pretty...
and a lot of fun to play in! :)  just ask the Oz Man.

he thinks he's hot stuff.
and here is our snowman...
B named him "Max."

i hope you all had a very merry & bright Christmas too!

Christmas Eve Happenings

we laughed, we ate, and we yawned...
those were the happenings of Christmas eve... in chronological order.
since this was our last official Christmas as Hoosiers, we took in every second of every family function... and we enjoyed seeing all of our family so much! :)
yes, we ended up attending SIX different family functions in 72 hours...
which is certainly not for the faint of heart!
but we made it through, we're alive, and even though it was pretty darn exhausting...
we loved every minute!

on monday evening, we spent quality time with our immediate families.
here are some of the holiday moments that i managed to capture with my camera...
(in-between chasing a toddler, and gorging myself with Christmas sweets, of course)

our goddaughter, Sydnie Grace, on her very first Christmas eve...

B wasted no time catching on to the whole "unwrapping" process...

... and Sophie... well, her personality certainly entertained the masses ;)
this girl is just too cute for words!

after all of the gifts were opened,
the girls transformed grandma & grandpa's basement into their own princess wonderland :)

see the video below for more details ;)

it was just too much fun to watch...

we eventually headed back to new harmony for our Wilson family "pajama tradition"...
each year, the entire family unwraps new coordinating Christmas PJs
to wear for our Christmas morning festivities! :)

it was little A's first pajama party!

B and little A had so much fun playing with the Nativity,
and playing their adorable little "crawl with me" game...

however; the toddler fuel was running on empty, so we decided to get home before
Santa put us on his naughty list! :)

we got B bathed and jammied, and she just loved setting out the milk and cookies for Santa.
of course, she made one last effort to make sure she was still on the nice list! :)

the elves went to work after B was fast asleep... or so i'm told. ;)

daddy and i did sneak out to find a few things that Santa left behind...

... and then there was Christmas morning. xoxo
