LUCAS | DIG & DUMP 2nd BIRTHDAY PARTY

We decided to have Luc's birthday party a few weeks early while we were at the beach, and we all had so much fun! Luc is well into the "construction phase" --  diggers, dump trucks, cement mixers, tractors, and the whole shebang, so it was a pretty easy to throw a very simple party that we knew he would love...

Of course, I had the best party planner around to help me decorate and prepare everything for her baby brother. She was so excited to help, and insisted on doing most of the work.

 Thanks again, Publix!

   A very proud big sister.

She just couldn't wait for him to see it all,
so we let her "announce" that the party was ready for the birthday boy's arrival!
His reaction was just about as perfect as you could imagine.

A few weeks ago, he got a crash course in the art of blowing out the candles... He saw Sissy do it, and he was sold! He was just so excited to tackle this milestone. It happened almost too quickly. It can be so hard watching our baby boy be so eager to grow up. *cue waves of tears from Mommy's eyes

I used to love throwing big parties for everyone, but that just doesn't happen anymore. I do love that our small, intimate birthday parties allow them to really taste their cake in their own way... They stick their fingers wherever they please, and their reactions always give us a great giggle.

FROSTING FIGHT!

Yep, she's definitely mine... The girl loves her buttercream.

We all loved watching him open all of his birthday gifts... He was so excited for his new dump truck and helicopter from Grammy and PawPaw.

And when we brought out his new balance bike, he was so thrilled! He has been begging for rides on his sister's bike for weeks, so we decided to go ahead and get a bike for him too... He loves his "ike-ikle" so much. We also invested in a top-rated helmet to protect that fragile noggin. No more head injuries, if Mommy can help it!

Thanks for partying with us, Bamba & PawPaw!

Happy, happy 2nd Birthday, Luc!!
We love you very much, and we are so proud of you.

Farewell, BabyBerry | Hello, Brand New BLOG! {plus a new video}

The time has come to say farewell to ourbabyberry.com... But the good news is that we are moving to a BRAND NEW BLOG! You can start following us over at wineplusapples.blogspot.com where we will be sharing our favorite family recipes, the latest photos and news on our family, and much more!

http://wineplusapples.blogspot.com/

Most of you already know that BabyBerry was started when we found out we were expecting Brynn. It seems absolutely crazy to us that we just posted Brynn's 5TH birthday on the very same blog- through it all, we have documented 2 pregnancies, 2 relocations, and each and every milestone of our growing babes to share with you all, and it has truly meant the world to have you in our lives! I will be turning this blog into a book soon, hopefully after just one more post of Lucas' 2nd birthday party...

So, farewell to you, BabyBerry. We will miss you, but we are excited to move on to a brand new place to post about our favorite experiences! Of course, I have to share one last video... xoxo

Weekend Adventures

Lately, we have been trying to find new adventures around our area to
explore and give Brynn a little taste of fresh air...
Since she suffered the most from Mommy's 15+ weeks of severe morning sickness,
it has been so great to get out with her and let her be a kiddo. A Florida kiddo. :)

This past weekend was no exception.
We started off the weekend at the beach, of course.
Our favorite spot is the south end of Bradenton Beach, called Coquina Beach.

I really wish these photos could show you how much our girl LOVES the beach...
She is seriously 100% in love with every aspect of a beach day.
The wildlife (fish, periwinkles, crabs, and manatees we've seen), the water, and the sand...
even the waves!

the sand: discovering periwinkles with daddy,
and building castles for her princesses.
they are two peas in a pod out there ;)

The next day, we went to our community pool...
where B almost certainly will abandon any toy we bring for her,
and seeks out the little boy toys to play with! Sharks and boats are her favorite...

She and her daddy enjoyed a little pretzel-eating contest...
as I said before-- two peas in a pod, those two!
This first expression is B's "sassy face"... Which happens to be one of my favorite expressions!

One of our favorite adventures from this weekend was visiting Tarpon Springs.
With a very thick Greek heritage, this town is really something to see!

We enjoyed looking at the boatloads of sponges,
and we even enjoyed some Greek cuisine on the water.

B, of course, loved watching all of the boats meander by us...

In case you're wondering about this one... She likes wands.
Like, "magic" wands. She thinks it's pretty great to cast "sweeping spells" by saying
bibbidi-bobbiddy-boo!
Oh, how I love her imagination... She frequently comes to me at home, with a toy that has been placed under a "sweeping spell," and says, "Oh no, Mommy! What we gon' do?" A little kiss usually does the trick...

 Opa!

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend with your families...

Today, of course, we are remembering all those who gave their lives for our freedom and thanking the men & women who continue to serve. God bless you.

Allen's 30th | Trip to Tampa

this weekend, we took a little trip down to tampa
to help us celebrate Allen's 30th birthday,
and also to take care of a few other things on the agenda. *wink, wink

here are a few photos from our afternoon trip to clearwater,
which we managed to squeeze in to our busy schedule.
it was almost 80 degrees in december, and it was beautiful. :)

    happy, happy 30th birthday lover!

brynn learned quite a few things while we were down there.
like, how to smuggle seashells in your mouth (and give your RT mother a heart attack)...
and how to use a hotel phone to call the front desk...
but the best thing she learned was, how to "smile" when someone points a camera at you...
she totally gets that grin from her daddy!

... and she's not really enjoying a cup of coffee. just snacks. in a coffee cup. promise.

i hope you all have a great week... we'll be catching up on our christmas shopping! :)
happy sunday!
