The Aquarium

Being that it has been six months since we moved to Florida, away from our family and some of our friends... It was so nice these last two weekends to enjoy some company in our new home. This past weekend, we were so excited to have Allen's parents, his sister Kate (Brynn's godmother), and her fiance, Sam, for a visit. Although, I guess not a lot of things went exactly "right" or as planned, we all seemed to enjoy the Florida Aquarium.... which happens to be one of Brynn's favorite places!

enjoying the mangroves with her beloved Aunt Katie.

of course, there are many 'rays to be seen in Tampa...

this little guy was practically waving at us the entire time, so I had to snap a shot of him...

There is plenty of opportunity for "petting" at the aquarium... Sea stars, rays, horseshoe crabs, etc... I love watching how curious Brynn will be, yet not quite brave enough to reach her hand in there!

It was so great to see some family,
and I hope they all managed to enjoy themselves as much as Allen and I did.... :)

And thank you for the date night!

Allen's 30th | Trip to Tampa

this weekend, we took a little trip down to tampa
to help us celebrate Allen's 30th birthday,
and also to take care of a few other things on the agenda. *wink, wink

here are a few photos from our afternoon trip to clearwater,
which we managed to squeeze in to our busy schedule.
it was almost 80 degrees in december, and it was beautiful. :)

    happy, happy 30th birthday lover!

brynn learned quite a few things while we were down there.
like, how to smuggle seashells in your mouth (and give your RT mother a heart attack)...
and how to use a hotel phone to call the front desk...
but the best thing she learned was, how to "smile" when someone points a camera at you...
she totally gets that grin from her daddy!

... and she's not really enjoying a cup of coffee. just snacks. in a coffee cup. promise.

i hope you all have a great week... we'll be catching up on our christmas shopping! :)
happy sunday!

Wedding Weekend

This weekend we celebrated the wedding of one of my best friends...
Anita and Rob were finally married in New Harmony on Saturday!

They had the most beautiful country chic wedding, and I was so blessed to be a part of it all! :)

Anita and I grew up together. We spent practically every day from kindergarten to senior year with each other. We were lifeguards for our summer job together. We went to IU and lived together for a few years. She was my maid of honor... To say we have history is a little bit of an understatement.
She is like my sister, and I love her as if she were.

 The Beautiful Bride

The only requirements for the bridesmaids' attire were denim dresses and cowboy boots.
I had to borrow a pair of boots for the occasion... And after spending the weekend in them, I just might invest in my own pair! {A BIG thanks to Deb for letting me borrow these beauties!}

There is just something so pretty about cowboy boots and a wedding dress :)

I was so in awe of Anita's calm and simplistic approach to the day...
Here she is calmly coordinating from the window.

 Cheers to the Bride-to-Be!

We also had some special visitors for the mommies...
Brynn and Vera stopped by to join the fun for a little while!

The wedding was at the Granary in NH, and everything was so beautiful and simple.
It was also very HOT, so the bride changed into her reception dress to cool down...
Mr. and Mrs. Warensford

The reception was held at an old pasture by the bride's house...
We used to play there as kiddos, so it feels a little like home.

It was so great to catch up with my high school and college friends!

... And Jen and I may have tore up the dance floor with the Cupid Shuffle. Had to make IU proud.
Just sayin' :)

These photos are after the rehearsal... We all went to the casino to win some $$$.
Of course, since it was Anita's lucky weekend, she won a lot of money to take back to FL with her-- playing blackjack for the very first time in her life! :) Lucky her!

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Warensford! I couldn't be more happy for you two!
Love you, Tita Bell!

A Little Family R&R

This weekend we decided to focus on some quality family rest & relaxation...

just the three of us... well, and Oz.

{Mommy/Brynnie sandal tan lines}
please excuse my feet... i'm desperately in need of a pedicure, and the nearest salon is 30 minutes away!
maybe B and I will go together :) i'd say it's about time to introduce her to the pedi...

of course, rest and relaxation is not in a toddler's vocabulary...

but we got to spend some quality family time together :)

sometimes you just need a little "us" time :)

hope you all had a fabulous weekend too!
xoxo
