Normally for our anniversary, we choose a restaurant that we have never been to before! On our first anniversary, it was The Oceanaire, which was amazing! We unknowingly started a tradition there... We ordered a bottle of Trimbach Riesling-- which has a little significance for the Weinzapfels because it is made in Alsace, France. The Weinzapfels are originally from the Alsace-Lorraine region, which was located on the France/Germany border. Allen spotted this on the menu, so we decided to try it.
On our second anniversary, we decided to eat at The Melting Pot and we ordered a Trimbach Gewurztraminer, so that's when we decided to make it a tradition to order a different Trimbach each year in honor of our last name!
Unfortunately, we won't be able to do that this year because I will be 9-months pregnant... So, we decided to hold off on the whole anniversary dinner this year until after Brynn is born. We are going to spend the evening at home, relaxing and enjoying the last days of life together without a baby... :)
The beginning of our collection... |
Another anniversary tradition we have attempted to start is watching the DVD of our wedding... If there is one thing I can suggest to a bride-to-be, it is to find some way to document your wedding on video!! It is totally worth it! It really brings the whole day back...
We also have a LOT of family birthdays this month, but unfortunately we won't be able to make it home to help them celebrate this year... My brother, Andrew will be celebrating his 31st on the 16th!! My Grandma's birthday is on the 19th, and Miles-Man's 1st birthday is on the 23rd... I am so sad we have to miss all of these milestones-- but I can't risk driving 3 1/2 hours. :( We are going to try to Skype for Miles' birthday so we can "be there" without actually being there. I can't wait to see him with his birthday cake!!
Anyway, I'm so excited about my shower this weekend!! We are still working on all the teeny-tiny details around the house to get ready for Brynn... So it will be fun to take a break and enjoy some time with all of my work friends!! :)
I hope you all enjoy these final days of summer! I feel like you can smell fall coming around the corner...
God Bless,
The Weinzapfels

You TOTALLY qualify, Roz... But not because you are a "nurse"-- because you are her Auntie Roz! :)

Definitely think you should wait till Brynn is born to celebrate. It would be great for you guys to go to dinner and enjoy a dinner out. You can always call me if you need help. It would be fun to watch a little one again!!! `Amber
