Here We Grow Again || 35 Weeks

How far along? 35 Weeks. Baby L is about the size of a large CANTALOUPE.
Maternity clothes? Absolutely.
Stretch marks? Nothing yet, thankfully...
Sleep: Between the potty-training and the pregnancy, I get a little... It gets the job done. ;)
Best moment this week: Spending time with my mom. Washing a lot of blue, teeny-tiny baby clothes! Celebrating Big Sis and her 3rd birthday, and hearing her tell me, "Whoa, Mommy! You got a big 'ol belly!"
Miss Anything? Being that I've been so focused on effectively potty-training these past two weeks, I have really missed being able to bend down comfortably and keep my balance. Luckily, our independent girl prefers to do most of the work anyway! :)
Movement: SO much, it's almost concerning... In the past week, he has been pushing his way around so forcefully, I was absolutely terrified that he was going to break my water. Like, I could seriously feel my sac bulging! I know that's incredibly disgusting, but it's the only way I can appropriately describe it... I distinctly remember that feeling from when I was laboring with Brynn, so once you know what it feels like, it's difficult to forget! I don't remember any of that with Brynn, so my prediction that he is going to be a bruiser might be dead on...
Food cravings: Ice water and fruit.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: B-O-Y
Labor Signs: Contractions occasionally. Luckily, they have tapered off a little compared to last week. I was thisclose to calling the on-call OB and heading to the hospital last week because I was having so many, and I just didn't feel right... I think it had a lot to do with the stresses of potty-training my little rebel! The first two days were practically guerrilla warfare, which probably did nothing to help me relax long enough to keep the contractions at bay...
Symptoms: Swelling galore! I was so proud to tell my OB two weeks ago that I had not had a lot of significant swelling yet... Only to get smacked with a puffy face and itchy feet and hands all this past week! The plus side? My lips look like Angelina Jolie's...
Belly Button in or out? In-ish. It's starting to POP, believe it or not!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Mood: Extremely fat and happy!
Looking forward to: Getting my very first "progress check" in the next few weeks... I will be surprised, with all of the intense symptoms I've been having, if I'm not showing some signs of progression. I never felt any of this with Brynn, so I think we'll be welcoming another October baby!

Pregnancy Comparison: 35 Weeks with Brynn

2010

After the big 3rd birthday celebration this week, Brynn decided to "decorate" Baby Lucas with some of her new stickers... She didn't hold anything back, so Mommy's belly was covered with Hello Kitty! She had so much fun placing stickers, and then peeling them off and sticking them in a different place... I just kept thinking to myself, "Oh, Lucas, you are never going to be bored with a big sister like this one..."

We've had a few busy weeks with Big Sis... She is officially potty-trained, even though we're still having a few issues at night. The first two days of this venture were quite dramatic... It was a battle of the wills. Mommy vs. Brynn. Straight-up guerrilla warfare. But on the third day, she woke up dry and decided that she really could be a big girl! I think she just needed to find a little confidence within herself before she realized that living in a diaper isn't really all that great! I know that I heard the phrase, "But I don't want to be a big girl!" come out of her mouth one too many times... I know that I was a little too hard on myself too, especially since I just assumed that my child would be like all of the other success stories I hear about... You know, the ones who just decide to go on their own after so long. Yeah... Not my kid. I should have known that- realistically- she just wasn't going to be told what to do and how to do it, nor was she going to go it alone. No matter how much fun I tried to make it, or what fabulous reward I offered... She is the ultimate independent girl, so I should have expected a little bit of resistance! She definitely needed a little "nudge" in the right direction... I really do love her for that, though. She doesn't make anything "easy" on me, but it forces me to find new ways to approach issues, and I feel like such a better Mom because of that. I do hope that Lucas will be just a little more easygoing, though. ;) Hey, a momma can dream, right?!

Our next appointment is on Thursday, October 10th. I will be 36 + 4, so it will be great to learn a little more about when our little man will be joining us!

And after a fabulous week, we took Grammy to the airport this afternoon... We miss you already, Grammy!! LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Go B on the potty training!! Awesome job mommy and B! Meyer has been potty trained since March and still wears a pull up at night. I wouldn't worry about that at all! You are looking amazing momma! I can't wait to hear more as the weeks pass:)
